I LOVE decorating my home for fall! There’s something about those warm fall colors, that makes a home feel so cozy and inviting. My favorite decorations are quickly becoming the ones that are made by my boys. Bringing them out year after year, stirs up so many great memories and has become a tradition in our home.
These sweet seed mosaics are one of my favorite fall decorations that we made together! Each picture is so cute and has a personalized touch. My boys loved making these are are already asking to add more pictures to the garland!

Here’s How to Make Seed Mosaics:
Step 1:
Cut out cardboard pieces and draw simple outlines of pictures. Depending upon the ages and interests of your children, you could have your them draw the outlines.
Then, paper punch a hole for string or you could use a clothespin to attach them to the twine.
Step 2:
Now make sure your beans are sorted and ready for crafting! Here’s a little bean fact: All beans are seeds, but not all seeds are beans. So yes, this is a seed craft!
Step 3:
Squeeze glue on your picture and spread it around so you have a nice even layer.
Step 4:
Now start pressing your beans into the glue! My only suggestion to my boys was to start in one area instead of placing them all over the place in random areas.
My son wanted to add eyes and a mouth to the ghost seed mosaic, so he layered black beans on top of the white beans. The glue was very thick, but it dried clear and those beans are not budging!
My boys made leaf, ghost, apple seed mosaics and my favorite is the “rainbow pumpkin”! It turned out so cute! The lentils are fun to use because you can just sprinkle them on the glue like glitter or confetti. This was so fun and I already have a seed idea for winter!
Pin it and save it for later!
I hope you give these seed mosaics a try! I promise, your little nature lovers will love this one.
